Handbook of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
Description
This handbook features short reviews of 112 topics in pulmonary medicine written by over 130 authors.
PurposeIt is intended as an update and review of topics in pulmonary medicine of interest to clinicians and trainees.
AudienceThe target audience includes pulmonary and critical care specialists taking care of patients, as well as residents, fellows-in-training, and paramedical personnel who can use it as a quick review.
FeaturesAlthough the book covers almost all relevant topics in pulmonary medicine, it is heavy on infectious diseases, especially tropical diseases. The descriptions of tropical diseases will be very useful for physicians taking of patients in a nonendemic area. The discussions of tuberculosis in particular are well researched and well written. Critical care topics receive special attention and are designed for quick reading. This book can serve as an initial resource for these topics, although it does not include references. The index is difficult to use and does not cover many topics in the book.
